Under Gary’s leadership, XLA is a provider of services and solutions to the national homeland, international, and defense sectors of the federal government. Gary has more than 35 years of experience in the government contracting industry ranging from professional services, information technology, electronics, and platform production.
Gary previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of QinetiQ North America and President of BAE Systems’ U.S. Combat Systems business where he oversaw operations involving more than 9,000 employees across 16 states. Gary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (accounting) from Longwood University. He is a member of the corporate advisory board for their College of Business and Economics, serves on the advisory boards of JWF Industries and is a board director of Enterprise Ventures Corporation.
As XLA’s Chief Operating Officer, Nelson McClung provides day-to-day leadership and general management to the company. Nelson oversees the company’s client portfolio, service delivery, and continued growth and maturity of XLA’s Practice Areas. Nelson’s expertise and leadership is evident in XLA’s development and implementation of solution offerings in the areas of cybersecurity, data analytics, business intelligence and capabilities, and global deployments. Nelson joined the firm in 2007, supporting the Department of Homeland Security.
Nelson previously worked as a Senior Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton for the Treasury department and he held multiple positions of increased responsibility supporting TRICARE with Axiom Resource Management. Nelson has a Bachelor of Science from James Madison University and a Master of Science (Information Systems Technology) from George Washington University.
Cynthia Andrews has more than 20 years of experience with government contractors, non-profits and commercial organizations. She joined this organization in 2007, working onsite at the Department of Homeland Security, before moving to headquarters in 2008 where she is now responsible for activities
surrounding contracts and bids and proposals. Additionally, she serves as the XLA ISO Management Representative.
Prior to joining XLA she was with Axiom Resource Management where she provided acquisition support to the Department of Defense. Cynthia began her career managing contracts with Department of Energy contractors, before joining an IT start up where she established the contracts and human resource departments. Cynthia received her Bachelor of Arts from the College of Charleston and her JD from George Mason University School of Law. She became PMP certified in 2005.
