XLA’s Coronavirus Response

March 27 – As we continue to navigate through this global health crisis and learn how to operate in what will be our new normal for the time being, XLA continues to be responsive and proactive to try to maintain business as usual. Although the situation with the COVID 19 virus is fluid and rapidly progressing, we as an organization, have taken measures for safety and work continuity. These include:

 

  • XLA Corporate has moved to telework to adhere to social distancing and help to stop the spread of germs.  Onsite visits that are absolutely essential to business continuity are pre-planned and spaced 6’ apart with no more than 10 individuals.

  • We still continue to interview candidates for all of our open positions, but have moved to virtual/online interviewing to ensure the health and safety of our staff and prospective employees.

  • Utilizing technology – XLA has moved to a virtual new hire orientation and on-boarding process to ensure a seamless and safety-first approach to hiring.

  • We maintain daily and weekly check-ins with our remote workforce through email, phone calls, texts, video chats, and group teleconferencing.

 

 

 

XLA Participates in Womble’s 3rd Annual Community Food Drive

September 2019, XLA recently again joined Womble Bond Dickinson at Womble’s 3rd Annual Community Food Drive in support of Food for Others, a local food bank which works tirelessly to feed over 90,000 people who live in poverty in Fairfax County.   Together, through all of their services the food bank serves 400-600 families every day Monday through Friday.  XLA remains dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we work and live.

XLA’s Summer Internship Program

May, 2019 – This summer XLA will again support a summer intern program, with participants working at both our Vienna corporate office and onsite with our customers.  The program gives local college students an opportunity to learn about XLA and gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional environment. XLA is committed to developing the next generation’s workforce. “We have had great success with many of our interns completing their summer program here at XLA and subsequently going on to obtain full-time roles either leading programs for our organization or joining government agencies in the technical field of their undergraduate area of study.” said Stephanie White, XLA’s Director of Human Resources.  “We welcome all to apply when the program opens up in May of each year for summer internship opportunities here at XLA.”
