5-16-16 – XLA Volunteers at 26th Annual KEEN Golf Classic

May 16th, XLA employees volunteered at the KEEN Golf Classic held at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, MD. XLA had a total of 15 volunteers help work the event performing a wide range of tasks to make sure the event ran smoothly. The annual KEEN Golf Classic brings together community and sponsor volunteers with the parents of many KEEN athletes. The day was filled with fun, friends, and fundraising. The event started out with a brunch buffet at 11:00am before contestants began the tournament scramble at 12:00pm. After a long day on the course, golfers had a chance to get off their feet and share stories from the day at the awards dinner and participate in a silent and live auction.

XLA’s volunteer support helped KEEN Greater DC raise over $225,000. This was the 26th annual golf tournament hosted by KEEN Greater DC, and the third tournament in which XLA volunteered. The KEEN Golf Classic is the largest fundraiser of the year and the backbone to support KEEN athletes and activities throughout the year. In addition to the annual golf tournament, XLA participates in the KEEN Fest every year, as well as KEEN’s annual Fund an Athlete program. We at XLA take pride in being a corporate sponsor for KEEN Greater DC and look forward to many years to come.
